In just a few months we’ve made history. And Happy New Year 2016 !

Our campaign is unlike the others. I am not for sale. And even if I did, it’d go poorly

Sisters and Brothers –

When I first decided to run for president, my greatest fear was that if I were to run a poor campaign or did not do well, that it would be a setback not just for me, but for the ideas driving our campaign.

The corporate-owned media wrote us off. They said we had no chance of winning, that there was no way we could mobilize enough people to overcome the electoral influence of the billionaire class. The political establishment said victory was impossible.

But then we came along.

And in just a few months we’ve made history: we’re rising in the polls, we have more volunteers than any campaign, and have received more individual contributions than anyone ever at this point in the Democratic primary. Let me assure you, the alarm bells are going off among the corrupt corporate class which is used to buying elections with little resistance.

But with a little more than one month before the Iowa caucuses, we face our biggest test of the entire campaign so far: our final official FEC fundraising deadline of the year.

Contribute $3 to our campaign before Thursday night’s FEC fundraising deadline and send an unmistakable message that you have had ENOUGH of the corrupt billionaire class buying our candidates and elections.

Our campaign is unlike the others. I am not for sale. I don’t go around asking millionaires and billionaires for money. . Let’s just say that the corporate class is not very excited about the prospect of a President Bernie Sanders.

This is your movement. And your contribution goes directly toward paying for campaign staff who can train volunteers to knock on doors, make phone calls and spread the word about our campaign. That is why it is so important I ask.

Make a contribution today.

In solidarity,

Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders for President

Plus – Killed ISIS Commander’s Cell Phone Shows Direct Ties To Turkish Intelligence

Excerpt. « Former US Department of State senior adviser David Phillips said, “Turkey’s role has not been ambiguous — it has overtly supported the ISIL. It has provided logistical support, money, weapons, transport and healthcare to wounded warriors.”

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan applauds after he received an honorary doctorate from Qatar University in Doha, Qatar, Dec. 2, 2015. Turkey and Qatar are two of the main benefactors of the Syrian rebels.

Baghdad, Iraq – An ISIS commander was killed in Salahuddin province and his body was searched. A cell phone retrieved from the corpse revealed messages from Turkish intelligence services proving the NATO country was providing security for ISIS militants when they traveled between Turkey and Iraq. This is the second NATO country implicated in assisting ISIS troops. The first was Canada.

Plus PLus PLus. Concerning Encryption.

« Should our rights be trampled just because of terrorists ?

If you ban encrypted hard drives, only criminals will have encrypted hard drives.

Never mind that that United States government—at federal, state, and local levels—has been guilty of some violations of civil liberties of its own. There are many individuals and institutions that are much worse than the U.S. government, and all of them would have the access to the same drives and communications channels as the NSA and FBI.

Still the level of precautions one chooses to take towards one’s own computers, drives, and communications should be an individual choice, as with most things in a free country. And the threat from terrorists is exaggerated. The thumb drives confiscated from the San Bernardino attackers’ house were unencrypted. The SMS communications between the Paris attackers were unencrypted, according to The Intercept ».

⇒Breaking up the deadly and terroristic cycle of war. Ron Paul: What Are The Chances For Peace In 2016?

The narrative goes this way.

« Each year more than one trillion dollars goes up in smoke. More accurately, it is stolen from the middle and working classes and shipped off to the one percent. I am talking about the massive yearly bill to maintain the US empire.

The money is spent to maintain existing conflicts and to create new areas of conflict overseas that in turn feeds the demands for more military spending. It is an endless cycle of theft and deceit.

The more money sent to the Pentagon and other parts of the Washington war apparatus, the more danger we are in.

Meanwhile, almost all of the presidential candidates promise more military spending and more war if they are elected. Did no one tell them we are broke and making enemies fast with our interventions? Do they think Fed-created money will really continue to fuel the US empire indefinitely? ».

Eurasianews. Turkey: Syrian Journalist Who Exposed Islamic State Atrocities Assassinated.

« A friend of Jerf’s has told AFP the journalist was “supposed to arrive in Paris this week after receiving, along with his family, a visa for asylum in France.”

It is really heartbreaking when real journalists and journalism are shot down, leaving the field to fluid and body-oiled emptiness. We share the pain of the family.

⇒Sofia news has more of this story of journalists killed during their duty. 110 Journalists Killed Worldwide in 2015 – Reporters Without Borders

« At least 67 of these journalists were killed while reporting or because of their work, with the circumstances or motives behind the murder of the remaining 43 remaining unclear.

Among this year’s victims were 27 citizen-journalists and seven media workers ».

Other journalists are detained or held hostages. Those figures are on the rise since 2007. The tipping point is more journalists are now killed in peaceful places than in war zones.

⇔O’Malley: The Democratic Primary Is ‘Rigged’.

Has O’Malley lost the rigged game ?

Can you talk about losing a rigged game whose aim is precisely to cheat on you and cause  for your defeat ? By essence, a rigged game is no longer a game. It is a preempted game, in which the chosen – not the winner, because to win, you got to fight with equal arms, tools and liberty – is known before even the beginning of the game.

Democracy and privileges are oxymoron. Call it the large gap or contorsion : circus figures.  Thanks to Bernie Sanders whose presence has prevented this rigged game from flattening the democratic party brain. Kind of cerebral death Jeb Bush is mocking those latest days. And he is not totally wrong.

Friend —

I’ve got 12 months left to squeeze every ounce of change I can while I’m still in office. And that’s what I intend to do.

We’ve done a lot of remarkable things together this year, and it’s because of committed citizens like you that this country keeps moving forward. You keep proving the cynics wrong.

On January 12, I’ll be giving my last State of the Union address. I want you to watch, and say you’re ready to keep up the fight in 2016 — because your voice matters just as much as mine does.

OFA is one of the groups getting people fired up to take action in 2016.

When we took office, we were losing nearly 750,000 jobs a month. But over the last 69 months, our businesses have created more than 13.7 million new jobs — the longest streak of private-sector job growth on record — and the unemployment rate is down to 5 percent.

For the first time more than 90 percent of Americans are now covered, and more than 17 million people have gained health insurance under Obamacare. Insurance companies can’t discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions, or charge women more just for being women.

And America is now leading by example on climate change. The Clean Power Plan will cut carbon pollution from power plants by 32 percent by 2030. We’ve cut our oil imports by more than half, while doubling clean energy production from wind, solar, and geothermal — creating steady sources of good jobs that can’t be outsourced.

Even as our economy is growing, America has cut our carbon pollution overall more than any other advanced nation on Earth. And we just helped secure the most ambitious global climate agreement in history.

These are your accomplishments, and that’s what I want to celebrate with you on January 12. As long as you’re out there organizing, on whatever issue you’re organizing around, America has a bright future ahead.

Thanks — and happy New Year,

Barack Obama
