At the beginning of this race, Trump and Sanders were given zero chance to win a State. They were considered as neglectable quantity against rock solid sheer establishment candidates claiming political experience.
From there, Trump and Sanders became the viable alternative the people were looking for. The notion of credibility emerged as the contrary of political experience. Starting from New York, the moment the election derailed inside the democratic party, we are progressively amazed by the law of gravitation in politics, which brings the people back to what they rejected, despised, condemned fiercely as being pervasive and unfair to them.
The permanent contradiction of the people asking for change and, backtracking when the prospect of that change is announced ahead, remains consistently and persistently unexplainable. Either the people do not beleive in change inside politics anymore or they have adopted the code of the cynical and hypocritical game sold out as normality and realism. Namely, Real Politics or Machiavelim.
On the Republican side, things look much better. So far, the game overthere has been extraordinary clean. Whether you like Trump or not, the Republican party was not unfair to him, until recently.
Bernie Sanders was not given the chance to run his campaign with the kind of serenity, fairness and tranquillity needed to perform.
Yet, the issue remains the same : we must reclaim our democracy from the billionaire class and from the medias as well. It is important to underline the destructive and distorted role of the medias, all packed against Sanders. Trump was also harassed by that other pack BEHIND former Secretary.
Sanders has overcomed the billionaires money poured into the campaign of the candidate they support. It came down to this : if the entire medias and politicians are behind a single candidate, then we are closer to a Dictatorship than never. IN PLAIN LANGUAGE IT IS CALLED A CONSPIRACY. JUDGING BY THE VIOLENCE OF THEIR COOPERATIVE JOB, THE PROSPECTS FOR A FUTURE TO DREAM ON ARE TOO LITTLE.
First. Can we know how many people voted in total for Sanders and for the former Secretary ? People and the delegates or superdelegates separately ?
Second. « Bernie is going to keep fighting to win every vote and every delegate, not just because that’s the only way to win a nomination, but because if we continue to stand together we can transform the Democratic Party and take our country back from the billionaire class ».
I want you to read this note. It’s one of thousands we’ve received from people who have contributed to our campaign this week urging Bernie to keep fighting for every vote and for every delegate all the way through the convention:
“I am a teacher and Bernie is the only candidate that is truly fighting for all of us. No other candidate has his platform of universal health care, a $15 minimum wage, and the rebuilding of our infrastructure. I will be with Bernie as long as he is willing to fight!” – Melissa from Massachusetts
We have an important FEC fundraising deadline tomorrow and the entire corporate media and political establishment will be looking to see just how many of Bernie’s supporters are willing to keep fighting for the issues that have powered this campaign from the start. That’s why we have to ask:
If everyone who have signed up to support Bernie chipped in $2.70 before our FEC deadline, that would send a powerful message that you will never stop fighting for the values we share and ensure we have the resources we need to fight for every vote through the convention.
Here are some more powerful stories we received from donors this week:
Heather from North Carolina wrote, “I am a 42 year old woman with stage IV breast cancer and I want to leave the world a better place for my three children. I believe Bernie is the man to lead us towards a better future for all, not just a few.”
Anne from Ohio added, “I believe in Bernie and he represents my values and political policies. I will continue to support him and this political revolution. Thank you for giving us all a voice.”
And Avid from Utah made a contribution along with this note. “I have been actively phone banking and contributing almost daily for Bernie. Please do NOT give up the fight. Bernie is an inspiration and is giving hope to me and my family!”
Bernie is going to keep fighting to win every vote and every delegate, not just because that’s the only way to win a nomination, but because if we continue to stand together we can transform the Democratic Party and take our country back from the billionaire class.
If not Sanders, then Donald Trump. AMERICA GET IT RIGHT !
Time after this post. This Reminder over the prospect of Mr. Trump becoming the president of the United States has triggered a dark scheme – from the hidden masked System, it shows – sending young people to bring violence into a Californian Trump’s event. Will you call this Freedom of assembly? or of Speech? a civilised electoral process? security ? Ok, Ok, if you would like to have a proof of the insane mind behind the scenes along with their criminal pulsions of death, manipulating weak or greedy people to achieve their indecent goals, just watch this last showcased event against Trump.
That the police and security were not able to stop demonstrators from crossing the barricades is laughable. Where has gone the American dream ? Drown into an enslavering corruption ?
It could only have been young people, those same group behind Sanders in mass. Another proof, Sanders and Trump are targets by the insane System.
Hooligan actions like these are a confirmation that the Political Revolution Platform can not be a classical party under this insane obedience. Black Lives Matter and Anonymous were kind enough not to disturb the process. They are activists by heart. But, we forgot this naked truth : Nothing can surpass the hidden system – behind political parties – wildness and corruption.
The cooperative job is underway, until Hillary is declared the president of the USA. If not, something has to be burned down. Qui vivra verra.
Now, Is Mr. Trump qualified or not to be president? What does this qualification require? A dismissed political experience only? (Read above credibility vs political experience) – Who is qualify to deliver degree for being president? Until further notice, only the People has this power and nobody else, including me. We can debate and take side, but we don’t have the right to mislead the people.
THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IS A DATE BETWEEN A MAN AND HIS PEOPLE
In an ideal world and should democracy be taken on the letter and the spirit, the candidacy for presidency is a deal between a Man or a Woman and The People. Political parties were set to bring a platform for that purpose, without interference. Alas, it looks like everything coming from a Human Being is cursed.
FRENCH LAWMAKERS HAVE VOTED AGAINST PURSUING UE-SANCTIONS vs RUSSIA. EXTREMELY POSITIVE NEWS.
MEANWHILE ISRAEL HAS SENT A REBUTTAL MESSAGE OF THE FRENCH PEACE DEAL BETWEEN ISRAEL AND THE PALESTINE. THOSE TWO NEWS ARE LINKED.
BOTTOM LINE. WHAT AMERICA WILL/WOULD FAIL TO PERFORM IN THIS 2016 ELECTION IS SETTING FRANCE ABLAZE – YOUNG PEOPLE ARE DEMONSTRATING AGAINST AN ENSLAVERING LABOUR JAB – AND RUSSIA SANCTIONS HAVE ENDED. THEY GOT A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON FRENCH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES EXPORTS. THE COST FOR THE UKRAINIAN COUP WAS TOO HIGH A PRICE TO SUSTAIN.
THE MASTERMINDERS OF THE COUP SHOULD FOOT THE BILL OF THEIR ACTS. THIS IS RESPONSIBLE POLITICS.
NEXT ON THE ROW THE UK-UE SORTIE. THIS WILL BE NOTHING SHORT AS A POLITICAL REVOLUTION. WAIT AND SEE. HAVE YOU NOTICED THE HUGE GAP BETWEEN A GENTLEMEN RACE OF FAIR PLAY IN UK AND THE WILD FAR WESTERN AMERICA IS DIPLAYING RIGHT NOW ?
WHERE IS CLINT EASTWOOD FOR A REPLAY OF ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST BY SERGIO LEONE AND THE EXTRAORDINARY ENNIO MORRICONE MUSIC DRAMA ? WE NEED CULTURE TO BREATHE AS POLITICS TODAY IS A CHAOTIC GAMBLE.
My pick of the day. Would Sanders Break up the Bermuda Triangle ?
More importantly, 2016 is not 2000. The public this year is clearly sick of the two major parties, and disgusted by the undemocratic nature of the primaries. Incredibly, both Trump and Clinton, the likely winners of those primaries, represent the two most unpopular and disliked candidates in memory, with some 65 percent of Americans saying they dislike Trump and another 56 percent saying they dislike Clinton. Indeed, Clinton, not favored by almost half of Democrats, is so disliked outside the Democratic Party that there’s a strong likelihood — and a fear even among Democratic leaders — that she could lose to Trump or another Republican nominee all by herself, with or without a Sanders endorsement. Meanwhile, the most liked candidate this year continues to be Sanders, whose negative rating is just 36 percent — probably all of them Republicans — and who continues to poll better against all possible Republican candidates than does Clinton. With numbers like that Sanders, if he continued to build his movement and continued to bring in new voters as he has demonstrably done in the primaries, could even contemplate winning such a general election race. He has also demonstrated his ability to attract tens of millions of dollars a month in online contributions. Running in a three-way race, he’d surely collect even more money, making him fully competitive with the two widely-loathed big-party candidates.
As the Green’s presidential candidate, Sanders would have the opportunity, even if he were to lose, to catapult the Green Party, for decades stuck in limbo in the low single digits as simply a protest-vote option, into major-party status as the party of the 99% — the poor, working and progressive people of all races.
Will Sanders seize this opportunity to continue the fight? If he is serious about inspiring a political revolution, he must.
Sanders and his ardent supporters, in other words, have a unique historic opportunity to shatter the asphyxiating two-party duopoly of two pro-corporate parties that has been the Bermuda Triangle of progressive politics for over a century.
If he runs in the general election as a Green, he has a chance to write a whole new chapter in those history books.
Would Sanders Break up the Bermuda Triangle ? The risk worth embracing. Totally. Passionately. Definitely.
HAVE A GREAT GREEN WEEK-END BROTHERS AND SISTERS.
If Bernie Sanders is reluctant to make the jump to running as a Green, he needs to be pushed by his supporters.
« I will be with Bernie as long as he is willing to fight. »
OUR FUTURE IS GREEN !
AS DEMOCRATS? THAT IS THE QUESTION.
TO BE OR NOT TO BE.
Sisters and Brothers –
When we started this campaign, I wrote that « I run not to oppose any man or woman, but to propose new and far-reaching policies to deal with the crises of our times. »
I am very good at arithmetic, and I can count delegates. We are behind today, but you know what? A path forward still exists. And our job right now is not only to transform our country, but the Democratic Party as well.
And you need to know that every vote we win going forward and every delegate we send to the Democratic convention not only moves us closer to the nomination but also moves our party and our country closer to the ideas we’re fighting for.
Today is a very important day for our political revolution: it’s the second to last FEC fundraising deadline before the end of the primary. And every member of the corporate media and political establishment in this country will be looking to see if you’re willing to continue this fight together. And that’s why I have to ask:
If everyone who has signed up to join our political revolution makes a $2.70 contribution before our critical midnight FEC fundraising deadline we’ll have the resources we need to continue our fight all the way through the Democratic primary.
It’s not just about how much money we are able to raise before tonight’s deadline, but the total number of individual contributions we receive. When the corporate media and political establishment look at our FEC report, they’re going to see every single donation as a continuing demonstration of support for the values we share. That’s why it’s so important you add yours before midnight.
ON THE INTERNATIONAL SCENE : BOSNIA.
From the RootsAction Team. For more than a year, a small family-owned mining company in Bosnia has suffered relentless retaliation for blowing the whistle on a government bribery scheme. Rather than being thanked for exposing corruption, Tuzla Kvarc has faced reprisals that have brought the firm to its knees.
Authorities have shut down its quartz mining operations. Workers have not been paid since January. Their options running out, several employees began a hunger strike to draw attention to this flagrant case of whistleblower retaliation.
The hunger strike has continued, with people refusing water and medical care.
International pressure on Bosnian Prime Minister Denis Zvizdić is urgently needed to stop the retaliation against the Tuzla Kvarc whistleblowers. Click here to quickly send an email of protest.
The backlash began in spring 2015 after Smail Velagić, the soft-spoken director of Tuzla Kvarc for 30 years, told police that a local mining official demanded bribes to grant the company a mining license. When Velagić’s son participated with police in a sting operation that caught the official in the act of demanding the money, retaliation against Tuzla Kvarc was swift and vicious.
Tax officials seized company property. Police conducted nuisance inspections. Prosecutors filed criminal charges against Velagić and the company for mining without a license – even though the reason it didn’t have a license was because they refused to pay a bribe.
Tell authorities in Bosnia that you condemn such retaliation against whistleblowers.
Last October, one of Tuzla Kvarc’s offices was burned, demolished, flattened and chopped to bits in the middle of the night by unknown perpetrators.
In solidarity with a trade union, workers maintained a protest in front of Tuzla’s government offices for 51 days until police dissolved the encampment.
Bojan Bajić of the Center for Responsible Democracy-Luna, which is leading the campaign in support of Tuzla Kvarc said, “I did not know that this kind of coordinated aggression by a bureaucracy — in the name of the law — was possible. The case of Tuzla Kvarc is the breaking point of my hope that this is a normal country.”
Click here to tell Bosnian Prime Minister Denis Zvizdić to drop all charges against Tuzla Kvarc and allow the company to put its 50 employees back to work.
