The story of New York’s Primary is one of a Profound Malaise and misapprehension.

… But, I still beleive those results are excellent. What does that mean ?

Too many things. Starting with this message from Team Bernie.

New York wasn’t the result we were looking for. But we still have a path to the nomination, and our plan is to win the pledged delegates in this primary.

Of course, each competitor would like to be the first and to win the race. This is what life is about and nobody is competing to loose. That said, in politics, results are not simple maths. There are telling a story. What is this story for New York ?

First, Bernie Sanders was 40 points behind, at the beginning of the race. He has narrowed the gap significantly.

Second, election results go by portions. From 1 to 5%, then from 5% to 10. Then, 10+ to 25%. Then 25 to 40 %. Then 40% to 55% , 60% to 80 and so forth.

When we (Bernie Sanders) beat it is by a huge margin, when we loose, the margin is thin.

There is an explainer to the NY margin.

External causes.

  • the initial scenario was rigged. Vice-President Joe Biden didn’t compete to avoid narrowing the path of nomination for the former Secretary. Jeb Bush didn’t get that much chance.
  • the electoral process is wrong. It is either close primaries or opened not both of them from here to there. Even more so, GOP’s voters should never have been allowed to vote for Democratic primaries.
  • INDEPENDENTS DIDN’T VOTE.

New York specificities

  •  New York is home to Wall-Street and to the former Secretary. As a man who is against the too-big-to-fail or to jail and the corrupt political system, Bernie Sanders was a scarecrow to them. If ever there were a place afraid of Justice, transparency, accountability and idealism, this place was NEW-YORK.
  • New York is one of the state promoting gay marriage. This is not a criticism but a fact. There is a relationship between being pro-gay marriage and atheism.
  • New York is home for the former Secretary, as a former Senator of the State.
  • New York’s Mayor was behind Hillary. So was his wife. A couple voted by black people. As a matter of fact, nobody can deny that the Mayor of NY is doing a good job, including the $15 minimum wage hour, the state has adopted and the housing positive politics to make people breathe.
  • The last-minute sortie of the Mayor has helped creating confusion between two records : the state and the former Secretary’s. It was so politician.

All in all, New York story reflects exactly why People like Bernie Sanders are necessary in politics.

When we say, « results are excellent » and « we will win » or « there is still a path for the nomination » or « we have already won the race », those are not empty words of self-fulfilling prophecies. Inside NY’s microcosme, the constraints enlisted above explain the marge of difference. Those constraints don’t apply nationally.

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR TO KEEP IN MIND FOR A REBOUND.

So, yes, we will, because of this other dimension : HISTORY.

There is real differences between politicians, but the only one above them all is some politicians are running for the moment and others are running not only for the moment to win- if possible – but for History so that when the times come to judge their contribution to Humanity, next generations will be able to trace the game-changers or changing moments. Some are founders and builders whereas others are cash takers or sellers.

Bernie Sanders is running not only for the moment, but also for History.

History will retain the disruptive moment he came to say :

  • No more too-big-to-fail. Too big to fail is neither justice, nor accountability.
  • No more crooks too-big-to-jail.
  • No more rigging electoral process and hidden packs for a planned victory on the back of elections.
  • No more election hijacking, the size of which we are in
  • No more corrupt money in politics
  • Healthcare for us
  • Education for all
  • A real functioning Justice, which can not occur inside a corrupt political system. Not surprising, those politicians are not backing him openly, on the exception on ONE of them.
  • No more inequalities because of a rigged system : 1% above the law dominating 99%
  • No more threats to political opponents or to dissonant voices
  • No more savage intrusions into our privacy
  • In short, it is about renewing the Democratic project, the foundation of our civilisation.

When you are running for something, each station is a challenge and you would like to win all the races and the states. But, you should take each result one after another. Sometimes you loose, sometimes you win. Naturally, we run to win. But how you loose counts also. When you loose with dignity, you haven’t. When you win with a lot of biais, it is not that glorious.

When your fight is worthy to the Progress of the Humanity and Values, you always win something.

If ever there were a place afraid of Justice, transparency, accountability and idealism, this place was NEW-YORK.

Did we come short because of the lack of pragmatism in NY ? What would have been that pragmatism knowing that we are at odds with the Philosophy of the Temple of New York reflects on the former Secretary running with Wall-Street billionaires money.

There is no way you can keep taking billionaire money, and pretending doing something against their impitoyable philosophy.

CHANGING THE GAME WILL REVERBERATE BACK TO NEW YORK

Frankly, this world is dominated by business men and their stooges out overthere named THE medias – obeying their Masters – and Tech. Politicians are mere puppets into their hands.

This is the game to change. Until Politicians are back on the wheels to lead the nations, it is illusory to wait or to hope for better days ahead.

Starting from now, we are entering the room of propositions on how to renew the System and our lives.

DON’T FORGET INDEPENDENTS DIDN’T VOTE. AND THOSE VOTERS ARE PRO SANDERS.

WHEN YOU ADD ALL THIS UP, PRAGMATICALLY  NY WAS MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. BUT PHILOSOPHICALLY SANDERS HAS MET THE CHALLENGING SITUATION OF NEW YORK. AND HE MADE THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE JUDGING BY THE ENTHUSIASM OF THE NEW YORKERS RALLYING AROUND HIM.

Bernie Sanders for President

Dear Bernie Supporter,

New York wasn’t the result we were looking for. But we still have a path to the nomination, and our plan is to win the pledged delegates in this primary.

Let’s be clear: we put more than 3 million calls into New York last weekend, and turned out a HUGE number of voters for Bernie. They voted for Bernie, for his ideas, and for our movement. And for each voter we contact, we’ll win more states, win more pledged delegates, and win the nomination.

This coming Tuesday, five more states vote, with 384 delegates up for grabs. We need to win every delegate possible in these contests to take a big bite out of our opponent’s lead before the primary season moves westward.

Despite disappointing results from New York – where we were playing on our opponent’s home turf, and under some of the most onerous voter registration requirements in the country – we are going to campaign hard until the very last primary votes are cast in June. And every voter we call on the phones makes a difference for our delegate count.

When we stand together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish – including winning this nomination. So sign up to call for Bernie this weekend and keep our political revolution strong.

In solidarity,

Team Bernie
